Fill out South Africa tourist visa application form online

and send the following documents to VisaHQ:

Application form: A fully completed application form DHA-84, signed and dated by the applicant.

Original passport: A passport valid for no less than thirty (30) days after departure from the Republic of South Africa and containing at least two (2) blank pages for endorsements (non-Dutch passports must contain valid long-term or permanent residence permits for the Netherlands).

Passport-type photos: 2 recent identical passport photographs.

Itinerary. Copy of an itinerary or flight reservation from an airline or travel agent. Please do not purchase tickets until the visa has been issued.

Proof of Residence. EU nationals (non-Dutch residents) who are exempt from Dutch residence permit conditions must provide Proof of Residence registration by obtaining an International Basic Administration of Personal Details Extract (“Uittreksel van Gemeentelijke Basis Administratie”) from your local Town Hall (Gemeente).

Bank Statement. Proof of sufficient funds by means of recently certified bank statements for the last 3 (three) months (including the day before or two before application is submitted).

Invitation Letter. A letter of invitation explaining the host’s relationship to the applicant written in English, with the host’s name’s South African ID number, address and work details. If visit is for a normal holiday, proof of booked hotel is required an/or an invitation letter from a South African citizen/Permanent Residence holder. Copy of their ID or passport or Permanent Residence certificate must also be attached.

Proof of accomodation. Please provide the proof of your accommodation during your trip.

Yellow Fever Vaccination. A yellow fever vaccination certificate if the applicant travelled or intends travelling from or through a yellow fever endemic area: provided that the certificate shall not be required when the applicant traveled or intends travelling in direct transit through such area.

BRP (Basis Registratie Personen). An extract issued by the town hall in the city of residence – it states one is residing in the Netherlands (with address, etc.).
For parents travelling with a child under the age of 18

Where parents are travelling with a child (under the age of 18), such parents must produce an
unabridged birth certificate of the child reflecting the particulars of the parents of the child. In the
case of one parent travelling with a child, he or she must produce an unabridged birth certificate
and:

• Consent in the form of an affidavit from the other parent registered as a parent on the birth
certificate of the child authorizing him or her to enter into or depart from the Republic of South
Africa with the child he or she is travelling with;

• A court order granting full parental responsibilities and rights or legal guardian ship in respect of
the child, if he or she is the parent or legal guardian of the child; or

• Where applicable, a death certificate of the other parent registered as a parent of the child on the birth certificate.
For persons travelling with a child who is not his or her biological

Where a person is travelling with a child who is not his or her biological child, he or she must produce:

• A copy of the unabridged birth certificate of the child;

• An affidavit from the parents or legal guardian of the child confirming that he or she has
permission to travel with the child;

• Copies of the identity documents or passports of the parents or legal guardian of the child; and

• The contact details of the parents or legal guardian of the child;
For any unaccompanied minor

Any unaccompanied minor shall produce to the immigration officer:
• Proof of consent from both his or her parents or legal guardian, as the case may be, in the form
of a letter or affidavit for the child to travel into or depart from the Republic: provided that in
the case where one parent provides proof of consent, that parent must also provide a copy of a
court order issued to him or her in terms of which he or she has been granted full parental
responsibilities and rights in respect of the child;

• A letter from the person who is to receive the child in the Republic of South Africa, containing
his or her residential address and contact details in the Republic of South Africa where the child
will be residing;

• A copy of the identity document or valid passport and visa or permanent residence permit of the
person who is to receive the child in the Republic of South Africa; and

• The contact details of the parents or legal guardian of the child.
For minor dependent children accompanying the applicant

In respect of minor dependent children accompanying the applicant to or joining the applicant
in the Republic, the following documentation shall be submitted:
• an unabridged birth certificate;

• proof of adoption, in the case of an adopted minor;

• proof of guardianship or custody, in the case of a minor subject to guardianship or custody; or

• consent from the guardian, in the case of an unaccompanied minor
